WE MAKE STONES SPEAK

BÄRLOCHER STEINBRUCH UND STEINHAUEREI

Welcome to Bärlocher! We have been quarrying Rorschach sandstone in the Bärlocher quarry since 1890. Above Lake Constance, not far from the Bay of Rorschach, in the Kreienwald quarry in Staad. Rorschach sandstone is a popular building block in architecture, landscaping and horticulture or in sculpture. We supply standardized and individual products made of Rorschach sandstone. Bärlocher combines digital stone processing with traditional stonemasonry. In addition to Rorschach sandstone, we also process other natural stones on our systems, preferably from Switzerland.

Welcome to the quarry

The Bärloch quarry in the Kreienwald forest is one of the most beautiful historic quarries in Switzerland. This is not least due to its fantastic location above Lake Constance. Rorschach sandstone has been quarried here since the 13th century. The quarry has been sustainably managed by Bärlocher since 1890.
